Driving on the Hume Hwy near Albury and there were many cars, overtaking a very slow car. There was a truck in front of me that ran over a tarp, the tarp got caught by the wind and lifted well into the air, after exiting from beneath the truck. I was about 3 car lengths behind the truck and I watched the tarp rise like a feather on the wind, then it started descending and came straight toward me, it wrapped my very little car on the right side and somehow gave me just enough window on the passengers side of the car to view the traffic around me. I panicked, I was in shock, I panicked. I have a cruise control that keeps the same speed as the car if front, I didn’t think of that at the time, but on reflection I was safe from the front. Drivers on the Hume don’t often give way to the cars around them but as I was trying to figure out what to do (probably a split second but felt like minutes) all the cars around me backed off and blocked the cars from behind from overtaking. They all gave me room to change lanes and then pull to the side. The car on my left immediately puts his hazards on, he was slightly in front of me when it happened and he put his hazards on and slowed down. This very kind person, I believe, saved my life that day. I will never know who that was as I don’t have a dash cam. I don’t think I have ever been so scared but that day, I believe someone or something pulled that tarp at the last minute to the right so it didn’t fully cover my windscreen. Thank you to all the very wise reactions of the drivers surrounding me. There is obviously something else I need to do in this world

I have a weekly networking meeting. Last week I was extremely sick and could not make it to the meeting. During that day, 4 members of the group reached out to me to see if I was ok as it's so unusual for me not to attend. I don't get this type of support in any of my other networks and I loved that these people who I meet with online, amongst a lot of other people, missed me and were concerned for my well being. Of note: I was way too sick to answer there calls, but did reply later :)

My partner of 28 years is going through some trauma due to his work situation and is having repetitive migraines. We have a person who was a colleague and now a good friend helping us through this transition. She spoke to my better half yesterday and this morning she asked me for our address. She has sent us a Migraine Hat from Amazon as she wants him to be in the best of health during this period and she won't let me pay her back. I was tearing up when she did this as his boss didn't even care if he was ok. Some people are so very kind.

I have done my work for a client as a bookkeeper and I chased their client to ensure payment went through as she had been working for weeks and not getting paid. For me this was everyday work, for my client, it was a nightmare that we took off her hands. She brought me flowers and chocolates today and we had a huge long chat about her business, about gardening and lots of chat about food. She was so lovely and I feel that I have a secondary role as financial therapist. She is in a much better place financially and mentally. She reminded me that even when we are just doing what we do, we are impacting someone else positively. If anyone needs a cleaner, i know the best one in Wagga.
