Kindness of strangers - My friend Mel shared the most lovely words on a post I saw about a family who is going through a very tough time. She didn't know these people, but the kind words she shared were just so lovely and I hope were a comfort to the family. This is not an isolated Mel-occurrence, she is so kind and generous with her words, thoughts, time and she inspires me to be a nicer person every time I interact with her.

Hotel cancellation at last minute - I have some clients who are stuck on Kangaroo Island due to weather so I am madly trying to rearrange everything. The hotel they were staying at in Adelaide agreed the night before they were due to check in to give them a full refund even though this was outside of the cancellation policy. Just shows if you ask and get a person with a little compassion, you might get a different outcome. My clients are very appreciative and I will continue to use this great hotel to support them, just like they have supported me today!

Subbing for a virtual stranger! - My amazing friend Daniel and his colleague Jodez have come through for me when I needed someone to represent my business on a call this week while I will be away. Jodez is giving up a few hours of her time on a Friday morning for a virtual stranger (we've met a few times virtually only, but feel like we will be friends when we meet for real one day :)) It means so much to ensure I'm not forgotten while I'm at a conference. Thanks to both Daniel and Jodez for arranging this.

My husband and I went back to the winery where we got married 10 years ago to reminisce and after chatting with the owner and tasting some of his new wines we decided to buy a few bottles to take home. When he packaged them all up, he said "on the house, Happy Anniversary". So lovely and a great end to another experience at this small family owned winery near Rutherglen!

Club Med Phuket entire team was just a joy to be around. Special call out to Maddie and Hayley who helped my husband and I though a tricky situation on my birthday and followed up with us throughout the remainder of our stay. What an absolutely fabulous team at this resort...could note another dozen people who were just so helpful the entire time we were there!

While get a late lunch at a fast food restaurant on the Hume coming back from Melbourne, I could see the staff were so under the pump. There were probably about 20 people waiting for orders and wait time for us was around 20 minutes. Prior to our order coming out another customer collected her order with a smile, a huge thank you and said "Keep it up, you're doing amazing". Hope this gave the team a little moment of joy and the kindness helped them finish off the lunch rush!

A young girl stopped her car on a rural road to protect a dog who had escaped from a nearby property. I then stopped to make sure she was ok. This caused me to reflect on the times when I'd seen this same dog (a serial escape artist) on the road, but have been on my way somewhere and "too busy to stop". Also reflecting that if my dogs got out, would i really appreciate if someone "captured" them and contacted me, absolutely I would. There's always more I can do to be kinder and this young girl taught me that yesterday.

My father was battling his suitcase and a very aggressive tram in Melbourne this week. A man standing nearby grabbed his arm to support him as the tram took off and made sure he didn't fall over. My dad thanked the man and said he was a "good man". The man responded that he wishes his wife thought that! It made me sad for a moment, but then glad my dad made him feel better with just a few kind words.....This was a Double Kindness in one interraction!

I was invited to a friends house to participate in a cooking class and had an incredible afternoon. Giovanni had prepared recipes, ready to go pizza dough, potatoes ready for our gnocchi making, lit his incredible pizza oven hours early, had a delicious assortment of ingredients for the pizzas as well as a sauce for the gnocchi and then kindly told us we didn't need to wash up. Such an incredible host and a lovely afternoon! Thanks for having us and sharing your knowledge!

My two dogs decided an open gate was an invitation to go for a stroll out onto our rural road. Thankfully a resident new to the area stopped, called my dogs and then rang me after seeing my number on Millie's collar. She waited with them while I walked down to find her and then waited while I called them back. I am so grateful a) she was driving along at the time and b) she stopped and called me.
