My old neighbours were not a friendly bunch, who were quite rude about a 20cm strip of grass along side my driveway that they wouldn't mow when they mowed their front yard. I live in a battleaxe block, so after mowing my yard, I had to take my mower down the long driveway to mow this 20cm strip.
My new neighbours moved in, 3 very young couples with infants/toddlers living in a 3 bed house. I thought that things were about to get worse!
First week I whipper snipped the edges, came back and found it mowed.
Next time round, they just did it when I wasn't home...and have continued to do it ever since. I have thanked them, and they seemed shocked that I needed to thank them for 20cm.
Some context for those not from Australia, this is not usually a problem in Australia, people will mow up to their neighbours driveway in the front yard, if that driveway is close to their property line. But, when someone argues over it, you forget how much we appreciate this small kindness.
